Digital Technologies

The role of digital and smart urban technologies in disasters and emergencies across our three cities was analysed by Work Package 3. This Work Package explored how different smart urban and digital initiatives across our selected cities were already addressing questions of disaster risk reduction and emergency response. Our interest was to understand how technology providers and users see the current possibilities of digital technologies in this field. The Work Package also wanted to explore how a broader set of actors, who might not yet be working on questions of disaster and emergency, might consider the future potentialities of smart urban and digital technologies in this regard.

Whilst our particular interest was working with technology providers and users in the three selected cities, we also engaged with actors at a national level to gain a better understanding of the contemporary situation in Mexico and its future perspectives.
